Roosterfish and more...
Spoilt For Choice have teamed up with Bahia La Tortuga lodge, and in doing so are now
able to offer you some of the very best rooster fishing anywhere, and at a price that today
offers truly incredible value for money.
Not only are the numbers of roosterfish caught here impressive, with multiple catches per
angler per day being regarded normal, but the average size is high, with good numbers of
fish in the 20-40lb range, and true trophy’s weighing upwards of 50lb.
In addition to roosterfish, fishing inshore produces a wide variety of eastern Pacific
gamefish, including jacks, sierra mackerel, snapper, grouper, various species of tuna and
more. And there’s more. Marlin Magazine, the world’s leading blue water publication, once
rated this destination as being second best in the world to catch sailfish, and while we’d be
the first to argue that today several other destinations might be more worthy of this title,
it is a clear indicator as just how productive the fishing for these fast running, high flying
billfish can be. In addition to sailfish the deep blue waters off Bahia La Tortuga Lodge are
home to blue, black and striped marlin, along with huge yellowfin tuna and dorado.

One of the worlds best kept secrets

The Bahia la Tortuga Fishing Lodge offers simple comforts for those who love the outdoors. Resting along a half-moon-shaped beach, we provide an authentic, old-world Mexico experience.
The lodge is a hand-made adobe building that features 7 rooms, each with their own bathroom and air conditioning. Cool off with a soak in our small outdoor pool and then unwind under a thatched-roof palapa while sipping a frosty beer.
These little perks are nice. But what you’ll remember the most about our lodge (aside from the fishing, of course) will be the fantastic Mexican food and friendly service.
Fresh snacks and drinks are always within reach at the Bahia la Tortuga Fishing Lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are also included during your stay. Savour authentic Mexican fare and a wide range of seafood dishes, including fresh-caught tuna sashimi, prepared by a talented chef. And if you have any special requests, just ask.
