Papua New Guinea ( PNG ) is an almost totally unfished area, hundreds of unexplored reefs, seamounts rising from 1700m to 5m, 5 potential world and country records in the first exploratory week, there are very few places like this left in the world so don’t miss the opportunity to fish this new location

Alotau in the Milne Bay province at the south eastern tip of the PNG coastline shelters the area from prevailing weather systems and harbours stunning reefs as well as unprecedented fishing. With no other charter fishing operations working within the area and limited commercial fishing the waters around PNG are pristine.    Alotau is accessed from Port Moresby by charter flight and is a quiet picturesque town with basic conveniences in the downtown area, including an international bank and general stores providing essential groceries and supplies as well as insect repellents and medicines.

The Lodge

Doini Island is located in the heart of Milne Bay, on the eastern tip of Papua New Guinea and is surrounded by white sandy beaches and pristine turquoise waters which are teeming with myriads of exotic fish.   The warmth and friendliness of the local people is amazing.

Beach bungalows will accommodate up to 6 and are fully screened and have en-suite facilities.

The restaurant boasts a unique, carved structure together with four beautiful ceiling murals painted by local artists.    Plus two large decked areas.

Fishing grounds:

Excellent fishing begins less than 500 metres from the beach with the potential of catching tuna, and numerous other species, from the shore.    Serious jigging and popping starts 15 mins from the island!!

Species/options:

Explosive topwater and shallow reef fishing for GT, Grouper, Napoleon Wrasse, Coral Trout and Red Bass.

Deep jigging and deep reef fishing for Dogtooth Tuna, Amberjack, Grouper and Job fish.

Offshore fishing for Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado and Yellowfin tuna.
